ATC Self-Build Pack — Basic (No Dust Cover)

Build your own Automatic Tool Changer for your CNC and Spindle with ER20 Collet size, with this 3D printable file pack. Designed for makers and CNC enthusiasts who want automatic tool changing without the high cost of commercial solutions. Provided macros are for GRBL/GRBLHAL based machines. 

Compatibility: This ATC requires a CNC controller and firmware capable of macro execution and tool-change commands (M6, M66). Before purchasing, please confirm your spindle can run at low RPM, as this is required for the load/unload procedure during automated tool changes.

  • Probe housing-its optional if you use a different probe or tool setter(remember to add X Y Coordinates in macro of your toolsetter/probe
  • IR Beam Sensor  housings and covers
  • Full assembly guide (PDF)
  • Wiring instructions to connect your sensors to CNC controller. Activate/configure the selected INPUT for tool recognition. depending on your firmware/sender software, you may need research how to.

Print Settings: Print tool pockets, covers and housings in PLA or PETG. Print the nut holder in ABS for added strength and heat resistance.

Before You Buy — Please Read:

  • Additional hardware is required to complete the build (springs, ball bearings, bolts,  IR sensors). See the parts checklist in the assembly guide.
  • Your CNC controller must support macro execution and the M66 command for IR beam tool recognition. The sensor can be disabled in the macro if not used (disabled by default).
